YOUR SAFETY FIRST, OVERCOME COVID-19:

While our needs and routines have been altered, our mission has not changed.  If anything, our senses have become more acute as well as our appreciation for life.  We aim to provide life experiences and aviation opportunities that will keep you looking UP.

In moving forward with enhanced safety protocols, we have modified our tours, Operational Procedures, and the helicopter in an effort to protect our passengers and crew from the spread of COVID-19. Please refer to our website, www.youtakeflight.com for details.

THE HELICOPTER:

We operate the Bell 206 Long Ranger for several reasons. It is a spacious, comfortable and extremely smooth aircraft. In fact, many of our passengers have compared it to a Cadillac in the sky, due to a Bell Noda-Matic anti-vibration system.

*** It is also perfectly configured during this time of social distancing protocol, as the Private Cabin and Cockpit are separate compartments. Therefore, we have temporarily implemented a clear lexan divider between the cabin and cockpit as an added safety feature for our passengers.

The Bell 206- 3 is often referred to as a heli limo, which makes it very comfortable for executive transportation. The air-conditioned Private Cabin features seating for up to 5 passengers. This allows for maximum space and privacy, as the pilot and co-pilot seats are positioned in the separated cockpit. It is often a workhorse in critical mission profiles such as air ambulance and law enforcement as the reliability and power of a jet turbine engine is considered a safety feature.

MEET OUR CHIEF PILOT: BIO

From the time he was child, Captain Wolf knew he wanted to fly helicopters. His conservative Hamburg, Germany, family thought he was crazy, but they supported his dream. He got his fixed wing private pilot license and then moved on to obtain his rotor craft license with the German police, where he started his career. He proceeded to move to South Germany and acquired thousands of hours of flight time in 15 different types of helicopters, including the Bell 222 Airwolf. With his primary operations in Bavaria, his mission profiles included  servicing the mountain huts in the German alps, air medical, heavy lifting sling load operations, as well as rally race coverage throughout Europe and Africa. He became quite well known as der Wolf, the Airwolf, after he was a contestant on a German TV show where he successfully his mission to paint the call sign of the TV station on the top of a car with a paintbrush attached to one of his helicopter skids, while dipping it into a can of paint.

Upon moving to the US, he transitioned into jets and started flying corporate jets and eventually became a Boeing B737NG Captain, flying for international airlines. Along with his wife, Kelley, they developed additional aviation businesses, including manufacturing FAA approved flight stimulation devices and acquiring their FAA Part 142 Certification as an airline pilot training center, where he is an instructor and Training Center Evaluator (TCE) for the Boeing 737NG.

Upon retiring from airline flying, Wolf itched to go back to his first and favorite love, (sorry Kelley), helicopters. While he still flies corporate jets, he is thrilled to be back in the Captain’s seat through our sister company, Airwolf Helicopters LLC, call sign, ‘Airwolf 833'

Welcome onboard.
